Engagement flow

01 Discovery

Interviewed freelancer and SMB billing pain: black-hole sends, awkward follow-ups, and tools that felt either too thin or too enterprise. Defined open tracking and speed-to-send as core differentiators.

02 Architecture

Designed a Next.js SaaS foundation with document models, share-link security, open-event instrumentation, workspaces, and an API boundary for future integrations.

03 Build

Shipped invoices, estimates, PDFs, tracking, expenses, branding, and team features as a cohesive product—not a bolted-on tracker on a static form.

04 Launch

Took QuickBilling live at quickbilling.io with a conversion-minded send-and-follow-up experience ready for everyday operators.

01

What was broken

Opportunity

Most small-business invoicing tools stop at “sent.” Freelancers and operators still chase payments without knowing whether a client opened the document, when to nudge, or which invoices stall after first view.

The product needed speed and polish for everyday sending, plus real-time visibility, quote-to-invoice flows, team and branding support, and an API for teams who outgrow a purely UI-driven workflow.

02

What we built

Approach

We built QuickBilling as an end-to-end SaaS: professional invoices and estimates, secure share links and PDFs, quote-to-invoice conversion, expense tools, team workspaces, and custom branding.

Open tracking became a first-class signal—device and timeline awareness so users know when a bill was seen and can follow up with confidence instead of guessing.

A documented REST API and analytics-minded product surfaces support teams who want to embed billing into broader ops, not just click through a dashboard.

03

Why it matters

Impact

Users can create and send polished invoices in minutes, then act on open signals instead of waiting in the dark.

Billing becomes a clear workflow—send, track, follow up—backed by estimates, PDFs, team branding, and API extensibility.
