Case 09 / 14
Joe Clean
Joe Clean is a UK cleaning marketplace—TaskRabbit-style for mobile car and home cleaning—built web-first with a decoupled core ready for consumer and vendor apps. OTP login, calendar booking, postcode geofencing, Stripe authorize-then-capture, vendor availability, and admin proximity assignment form the operating system; mobile apps with tracking, chat, and job proof are phase two.

Engagement flow
01 Discovery
Defined marketplace roles—customer, vendor, admin—and UK constraints around postcodes, regional pricing, and payment capture timing. Locked web-first launch with mobile-ready architecture.
02 Architecture
Built a decoupled core for booking, geofencing, payments, and assignment so web and future apps share one operational backbone.
03 Build
Shipped OTP, calendar booking, Stripe authorize-capture, vendor tools, and admin proximity assignment; structured mobile apps as the next surface on the same platform.
04 Launch
Launched the web marketplace for UK cleaning jobs with a clear path to consumer/vendor apps, tracking, chat, and eventual auto-dispatch.
01
What was broken
Opportunity
Launching a service marketplace means solving trust, geography, pricing, and payments at once. Joe Clean needed web launch velocity for car and home cleaning without painting itself into a corner when consumer and vendor apps arrived.
Regional UK pricing, postcode geofencing, vendor availability, and authorize-then-capture payments had to work from day one—alongside an admin model for proximity-based job assignment and a path to auto-dispatch later.
02
What we built
Approach
We designed a decoupled marketplace platform: OTP login, calendar booking, geofenced postcodes, Stripe authorize-then-capture, vendor availability, and an admin panel for proximity-based assignment.
The architecture separates web marketplace surfaces from a reusable core so mobile apps—tracking, chat, job proof uploads—can ship as phase two without rebuilding booking or payments.
Customers book slots and track status; vendors manage jobs and availability; admins confirm and assign with confidence, with regional pricing and future auto-dispatch in mind.
03
Why it matters
Impact
Joe Clean launches as a credible UK marketplace on web while keeping a clean path to mobile apps and auto-dispatch.
Payments, geofencing, and admin assignment give operators control over trust and proximity from the first booking.
